Introduction- Who am I

Hey guys!

Nathan Duke here and this is my first post here. 

First off let me give you a quick background about myself and who I am. 

I'm studying Human Resource Management in SETU Waterford. Ican't believe it’s my final year of college. It has flown by! I'm 20 years old and living in Wexford in the South-East of Ireland. 

For my work placement I worked in Bank of New York Mellon within a global training team. This was an interesting and exciting experience. I learned a huge amount about how important continuous learning and development is. Working with a supportive and friendly group of people really enhanced this experience for me!

Let me ask you a question...when you think of digital economy what do you think about? When I ask myself this question I think about transactions, activities and economic process that are integrated with digital technologies in everyday life. The fact that we use these systems at home, in education and work is mind blowing!

Earlier this morning I bought a new jumper on the JD Sports App. I used my Iphone which is supported by Apple. In turn JD Sports are supported by Apple to deliver this new jumper to me through their app from the App Store. To take a step back and think about this is interesting and exciting!  

I used a wide variety of digital economy systems on my work placement. Two systems that come to mind are Microsoft Teams and Outlook. These digital systems allowed for operational efficiency in my role. I was easily able to contact members of my team from around the world which also improved communication and productivity.

Other systems such as Microsoft Excel allow for the collection of data. This can improve  decision-making along with the forecasting and understanding of information.
